How do I qualify? <p>Mandatory Community College certificate and/or equivalent training, education and working experience in a child- related field.<p> Current certification in Standard First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) with AED.<p> Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff using American Sign Language (ASL).Skills and Qualifications <p>Your background and experience enables you to meet the following requirements: demonstrated experience working with children who are deaf and may have other emotional and behavioural disorders.<p> demonstrated experience implementing academic and prescribed behaviour management programs in the classroom.<p> knowledge of education terms and strategies as they relate to students with behavioural and educational exceptionalities.<p> knowledge of child development and an understanding of caring for children with special needs.<p> excellent communications skills, written English and American Sign Language (ASL) (or willingness to learn) to communicate effectively with students and staff.<p> knowledge of relevant legislation /policies /procedures /guidelines/practices that address student care and safety.<p> excellent analytical, problem solving and observation skills to id
